This is a great trip for young families, senior citizens, persons with disabilities or anyone looking for a mild float trip. Let one of our experienced guides row you and your family down the ‘Milk Run’ – no paddling required!
When is the best time to raft the Family Float?
Trips start going out April 1, but mid-May through mid-August is the most popular time to go. Early season and late season trips provide a milder experience than spring runoff in late May and June when the water is high. July through mid-August combines milder water with the warmest temperatures, which makes it the best time to go with young children.
Departs from River Runners at Browns Canyon
Meet at River Runners at Browns Canyon to check-in. Then take a short van ride to the river. From there float four miles of the Arkansas River right back to River Runners. Choose from two departure times daily at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
What to bring on your Family Float rafting trip?
PFDs, helmets, paddles, wetsuits, splash tops, wet shoes and first aid kits are included. Depending on the weather you may not want to wear a wetsuit. Many people where swim trunks, swim suits and/or board shorts with strapped sandals.
